22 Months..2 until 2!!!

Cooper is 22 months old! Can you believe he will turn 2 years old in 2 short months???

At 22 months, Cooper is saying many, many new words every day. He has also started to combine words into phrases. It is so fun watching his vocabulary develop. My favorite thing he does right now is say, "Mommy, hug?" It is soooo sweet. It melts my heart every single time.

Cooper has also started wanting to play with other kids and not just around them. We are still working on taking turns and sharing. :) He loves to run, climb, and play, play, play! He recently started to sit long enough to watch almost a whole 30 minute cartoon, but only if it is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse or Handy Manny. We usually only allow one show a day, but I will admit it is a nice break for me!

He has become much less picky when it comes to eating. He will eat just about anything he can dip or eat with a toothpick (a tip from one of my friends!).

What a joy it is to spend my days with this sweet (almost 2 year old) little man!

An Ear Infection for Easter

Chad and I decided we would spend Easter at home this year since we have been traveling so much lately. Unfortunately, our first family holiday at home wasn't quite what we had planned. Cooper got sick with an ear infection on Thursday, and soon after added a nasty stomach bug to the mix. So we were pretty much homebound for the entire long weekend.

Cooper did manage to gather up the strength to dye a few eggs. Unfortunately, my Type A personality couldn't allow playing in the dye for too long. I just can't do brown
Easter eggs. Ha!

The finished products!

Cooper was feeling pretty yucky on Easter morning so we decided to stay home from church. Chad and I were so disappointed. Just doesn't feel like Easter without spending time to worship our risen Savior with other believers. And, we have never been to our home church on Easter since we are usually visiting family.

Checking out his treats from the Easter bunny.

Hunting eggs (He was less than excited about this. In fact, he gave up after a few and Chad and I collected the rest for him.) Poor little guy!

He did enjoy a few of the treats inside them though!

Playing with his new train.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

Hangin' with Uncle Case

Uncle Case also came to visit us last weekend. After overcoming a short illness (which he claims was tuberculosis), he was willing to entertain Cooper in whatever way possible...including the jump-o-lene. So, I decided he deserved his own post! HA!

Cooper loves playing with Case, but he knows to keep a watchful eye on him. You never know what he might be up to!

Thanks for coming Case!

Grandparents are Grand!

During the past week, Cooper got to spend some quality time with all of his grandparents and even his great grandparents. He is one blessed little boy!

MiMi and Grandad came for a visit, and Cooper loved having them here!

(This is pretty blurry, but too sweet not to include.)

Baseball with the guys

Cookin' with MiMi

Then we headed to Abilene to stay with Grandmommy and PaPa and visit Cooper's great grandpa in the hospital. Unfortunately, Grandmommy got sick while we were there so we didn't see much of her. But we did manage to squeeze in several visits to PaPa Foster in the hospital and one to PaPa and Mom Mom Martin. Cooper even got to try some of their fried fish! Yum! Cooper also got to go to Mr.Gatti's with MiMi and play until he was so tired he could barely walk!

Cooper had a blast helping PaPa wash the car.

Building a pretend fire at the park

Grandparents sure are GRAND! It was great to see everyone!

Party Time!

Last weekend, we had such a good time celebrating special days with friends and family.

On Saturday, we headed to Abbey's Playtown to celebrate one of Cooper's favorite friends, Sophia's, 2nd birthday! He loves that place, and it was even better spending the morning with his friends!

All gassed up and ready to go!

Enjoying his very first juice box. I think he is a fan!

Chowing down on a yummy (and very cute) cupcake. Wish I had gotten a picture before he devoured it!

He even got this super fun personalized bucket with a shovel, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and a balloon as a party favor!

On Sunday, we headed to Keller to celebrate cousin Madie's 1st birthday! It was a cupcake celebration!

The happy birthday girl!

My friend, Sara, made her smash cake and cupcakes. They were adorable and yummy too!

Here is Madie basking in the cupcake goodness! HA!

Lunch with MiMi

Taking a spin in Madie's new ride

Look at these adorable cupcake pops that Cassie and Mike made as party favors! They were delicious! Cassie even gave Cooper this book as a party favor! I'm pretty sure she thought of EVERYTHING cupcake!

Down on the Farm

Today we met our playgroup at Country Critters for some VERY windy farm fun! Cooper and I had a blast! I think he liked it even more than when we went in the fall.

Cooper had the most fun chasing and brushing the goats and sheep!

He thought the chickens, roosters, and turkeys were very funny.

He had a a lot of fun running through this maze.

Riding on the "train" with all his friends. (while mommy followed behind)

He even rode this pony!

Looking for Peter Rabbit

Not too excited when we actually found him. HA!

What a fun day!

Happy First Birthday Miss Madie!

Yesterday, was Madie's (Cooper's cousin) first birthday! Cooper and I had so much fun celebrating with her at the Children's Museum! Cooper LOVED the little grocery store area this time. He was a wild man with this shopping cart. (I was too busy trying to corral him, so Cassie I stole this picture from your blog!) Madie left the grocery shopping to Cooper while she took care of all the little babies!
Having a serious discussion about the bubbles. ;)

Cooper really enjoyed the outdoor water discovery area too!

Madie was so nice to share her birthday cookie with Cooper! I'm not sure which one of them enjoyed it more!

They both got to end our adventure with a stuffed animal. Madie got her a bunny and Cooper chose a dog. He even found a perfect hat for it this morning!

Thanks for sharing your special day with us Madie! We love you!

First Overnight Stay!

This weekend my parents came to stay with Cooper while Chad and I went to a wedding at Horseshoe Bay. It was our first time to leave him overnight, and he did great! (we survived too!)Grandmommy and PaPa took good care of him, and it sounds like they had lots of fun. They even remembered to take pictures!

PaPa and Cooper ready for a fun day!

They took him to a little Spring Fling our neighborhood was having on Saturday. He got to hunt Easter eggs and do a candy walk!

I'm not sure what all they did while we were gone, but I feel quite sure there was plenty of spoiling going on. ;) Thanks Grandmommy and PaPa. You're the best!
