A Day of Birthday Fun

We had a full day of fun for Cooper's birthday yesterday! We began the morning with a blueberry pancake that he loved!
Then we headed to the Ft. Worth Zoo.  It was so nice because it was kinda cloudy and not crowded at all.  Cooper loved seeing the animals, especially the penguins, white tigers, and gorillas!  We had a great time!

Next, we headed to Jake's for lunch!  Cooper checked out the menu but decided to stick with his normal lunch of yogurt, veggies, fruit, and cheese!

After a nice long nap, Cooper took a dip in the splash pool we got him for his birthday.  He also tested out the sand and water table he got from Grandmommy and PaPa!

Finally, we went to McDonalds for dinner.  He loves to watch all the kids playing.  Cooper tried his very first ice cream and loved it!  Guess he's a little like his mommy after all!  He kept signing "more" and looking from me to Chad for a bite.
Happy First Birthday Mr. Cooper!

It's My Party

We had such a great time at Cooper's birthday party on Saturday! We ended up having almost 30 family members attend. Here are some pictures of the decorations and fun at the party! I will do a separate post to show you some of Cooper's new presents!

The food table minus most of the food. (We forgot to take a picture later!)
The jump'o lene that quickly turned into a hamster wheel!

Cooper ate his cake so politely.  He only took very small pieces at a time!  Chad and I were very surprised!
Cousins and Second Cousins entertaining the birthday boy!
All partied out!
More birthday pics coming soon!

Bye Bye Bottles!!!

For the past few weeks, I have been working on switching Cooper from bottles to sippy cups.  I think we are finally there!  This week he has been drinking his formula like a champ!  Throughout this process we have aquired quite a collection of sippy cups.  For some reason I have this compulsive need to buy a new type of sippy cup EVERY time I visit Babies 'R Us.  (Which is pretty often)  Here is just a sampling of our assortment.  (Yes, there are many more!)

After trying every cup imaginable, I have come to the conclusion that he probably would have taken to any of them eventually.  But... these Tommee Tippee cups ended up being his most popular choice for now.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to our favorite Daddy!

I am so blessed to have such a loving and selfless husband. Chad is such a great Dad and role model for Cooper. He works so hard to provide for us, always with a smile and never a complaint. It makes my day to see Cooper's face when Chad walks into a room. He gets this mischevious little grin everytime! I love to see the anticipation on Cooper's face when he hears Chad opening the door after work. He crawls to his daddy as fast as his little arms and legs will let him. I am so thankful that Cooper will have such a strong father figure to look up to and learn from.
This weekend we celebrated by letting Chad pick all of our activities and meals. We started by a trip to Trader's Village. Chad loves to negotiate and this is one of his favorite places. (Cooper and I NEVER accompany Chad because it is definitely NOT one of my favorite places! This could have something to do with the fact that my parents car got stolen there when I was little!) We also made a trip to Academy (another one of Daddy's favorite places), watched the Rangers, celebrated with snow cones, and went swimming!

Another reason Cooper loves his Daddy so much...he can get away with things like climbing on the dishwasher!

Cooper also wore his Father's Day jammies this weekend. They say "Handsome Like Daddy". (Sorry for the blurry picture!)

Chad and I are both so lucky to have amazing Dads! We are so thankful for the examples that you are to us, and look forward to all that Cooper will learn from you too! We love you PaPa and Grandad! Happy Father's Day!

Bathtime Bruiser

Last night, Cooper slipped in the bathtub and got his first black eye. :( He calmed pretty easily until he saw himself in the mirror. Then, he cried and cried some more. I know this will be the first of many bumps and bruises, but it sure is hard on a mom! Now I understand why my mom spent my brother's athletic career under the bleachers or hiding her eyes with her hands! I don't know if I will be able to handle football. Right now, golf is sounding pretty good! :)

Pool Playdate

This morning we met Rachel, Alyssa, and Katelyn at the pool for a playdate. It was nice and overcast, so it was a perfect day for two fair skinned little ones!

Cooper thought it was great that he could touch the bottom of the kiddie pool in his float. He scooted and walked all over the place!
Katelyn was more content to leisurely lounge in her float!
What a fun time!

Beach Fun!

This past weekend, my family rented a beach house at Surfside! We had so much fun playing in the water and sand, visiting with family, and eating (ALOT!). Cooper absolutely loved playing in the water and sand. He was very intrigued by the waves and would reach out to try to catch them. He loved crawling around and splashing in the wet sand too! Here are some pics from our weekend!

First time in the ocean!

Pure Joy!

Thankfully, Grandmommy and PaPa brought a tent for us to sit under. Cooper even took some naps out by the water while Grandmommy fanned him. Talk about spoiled! :)

Meghan, Cooper, and Kate! Cooper had so much fun playing with the girls!
