Playdate at the Park

Yesterday we had a fun playdate with Rachel and Katelyn at the park!

Cooper had a fun time swinging and playing in the woodchips.

He had fun watching Katelyn walk and play too! They had a nice little talk with each other on the swings. :)

9 months

"Can you believe I'm 9 months old?"

Cooper has really changed in the last month. Crawling makes ALL the difference! He is a busy little boy exploring his environment.
At 9 months, Cooper weighs 21.1 lbs. and is 29 1/2 inches long. He is in the 75-90th percentile in weight and the 90th percentile in height. He is also in the 90th percentile in head size. He is a big boy!
Cooper has added cheese, Gerber puffs and yogurt melts, cheerios, cottage cheese, and toast to his diet. He has eaten alot of the fruits and vegetables he had previously in finger food form as well. He prefers to feed himself and really doesn't like baby food anymore.
Cooper is sleeping about 11 hours at night and takes two 1-1 1/2 hour naps. He is happy most of the time and giggles alot. He still LOVES peek-a-boo and being outside. He also really likes to play ball (especially now that he can crawl after it!), read books (the touch and feel kind), swing, and knock things over.
Here are some out takes for your enjoyment!

Sunday Fun-day!

Today was a very fun and busy day!

I decided to dress Cooper in his Easter outfit this week since we will not be in town to go to our church next weekend. (Unless Aunt Cassie has her baby!) Unfortunately, we were running late so I didn't have time for many pictures. Cooper did great in the nursery again today! Well, maybe I should say he didn't cry. The report we got was "He even let us put him down for about 10 seconds!" We'll take any positive feedback we can get!

Cooper also took his first ride in his new "big boy" car seat today! He loved it! We also gave in and got a window shade for the car... my car is officially a true mom mobile. :)

He also took his first nap in it on the way home from church.

We got a fun surprise this morning when MiMi and Grandad called and said they were on their way from Abilene to meet us for lunch! We went to the Oasis so Cooper could see the ducks and fish. It was very windy so we didn't get to look very long.

Cooper loved chewing on MiMi's straw. Don't worry, MiMi was holding it tight so he couldn't put it too far into his mouth.

Finger Foods?

Cooper has become Mr. Independent when it comes to eating these days. He refuses to eat almost anything that I try to give him on a spoon. He insists on trying to feed himself with a spoon or eat with his hands. It is very interesting when oatmeal becomes a finger food! What a MESS! It is times like this that I am so thankful to be staying at home with Cooper. I know I would not find this enjoyable if I was in a hurry to get to work. But for now we just laugh and make a mess at every mealtime!

Here is a little bonus picture from Baby Bookworms yesterday! He really enjoyed showing off his crawling abilities!

Cousins!

Last week, Cooper and I went to Abilene for a few days. We got to spend some time with Cooper's cousins, Meghan and Kate! They were visiting Grandmommy and PaPa during their spring break. We had a great time!

Grandmommy and PaPa took us to their favorite (non-crowded) park!

Blowing Bubbles with Grandmommy!

Wagon ride with Meghan!

Cooper also got to take his first trip to Chuck E. Cheese! Unfortunately, it was close to his bed time so he wasn't in a great mood. He did like looking at all the lights and looking at Chuck E. Cheese though! (Sorry these pics are kinda blurry! I left my camera in the car and had to use my phone!)

Meghan and her lucky game! (She hit the jackpot and won lots of tickets!)
Kate taking a ride with Chuck E.

PaPa even decided to get in on the fun!

Cooper is ready for some food, and wishing he could have a piece of that pizza!
Thanks for a fun time everyone!

Crawling!

Cooper has become quite the crawler during the past few days! It is so fun to watch him explore. He is very proud of his new skill.

Please excuse his bed head!

Mini Spring Break

Yesterday, we decided to take a mini vacation and went to spend the night at the Gaylord Texan! We had so much fun together as a little family!

Cooper loved looking at all the sights inside the hotel. He was especially amazed by all the big fountains.

Cooper learned very quickly that he could get away with alot more in a hotel. We did just about anything to make him happy and keep him from disturbing others...

Jumping on the bed

Getting his pacifier when it wasn't sleeping time

We also took Cooper for his first swim! He loved, loved, LOVED it! He was splashing and kicking like a little fish! I think he would love a pool in our backyard. Hmmm... I wonder who we could talk to about that? I hear Pools By Owner is a great company! ;)

When Chad swam around with him, he would kick his legs like a mermaid. It was so cute!

As Chad and I ate dinner last night, we laughed at how much Cooper has changed our lives in the last 8 months. Chad went and got food for us from one of the restaurants in the hotel. We ate at the table in our hotel room by the light of the table lamp as Cooper slept. We whispered the whole evening after he went to sleep at 7:30. HaHa! While our lives are definitely different, we wouldn't change a single thing! One little smile from our sweet Cooper makes it all worthwhile!

Track Meet

On Friday, we went to Granbury to watch Uncle Case pole vault in his track meet. Cooper loved watching the boys jump!

It was VERY windy outside! Luckily, the pole vaulting was inside. Cooper wasn't so sure if he liked the way the turf felt!
We were very glad to get to have Grandad spend the night with us too!

My Little Bookworm

This week we had a good time at Baby Bookworms. Cooper got to hear some books about shapes!

He really enjoyed playing with the balls. He even found one to match his shirt!

He also discovered a really fun book with mirrors inside!

Peek-a-Boo

While I was feeding Cooper yesterday, he started hiding his face and playing peek-a-boo. It took me a second to figure out what he was doing. Luckily, I caught a little bit of it on camera!

Bye Bye!

Today we got to have lunch with Uncle Kent, Aunt Courtney, Grandmommy, and PaPa! Courtney is moving to Pennsylvania this week to be with Kent. We are so glad they will finally get to be together, but we are sure sad to see them go. Hopefully their journey will bring them back to Texas soon! We love you guys!
Cooper was fascinated by Courtney's shiny jewelry. He smiled at her all afternoon! :)
I had to include this cute picture of Grandmommy and Cooper too! (Somehow PaPa managed to escape the camera this time around.)

Sunny Days

The weather has been wonderful for the last few days. We have loved getting to go outside every day! I can't wait until summer!
Swinging!

Look! No hands!

It was a great day for a walk! Too bad Cooper does not like to ride in ANY of our THREE strollers. I'm pretty sure he is close to the weight limit on all of our baby carriers. Me and Chad have to take turns carrying him. :)

Keeping Cooper entertained while I did some reorganizing/childproofing in the kitchen! He loved to drag the pan against the tile and make noise.

8 Months!

Cooper turned 8 months old on Sunday! He has changed so much! We are having so much fun with him at this age. (I think I say that every month!)

At 8 months...

*Cooper likes to play, play, play! He is such a busy little boy, and is very interested in his toys. His favorite toy right now is his ball. He loves to play peek-a-boo and pat-a-cake. He still enjoys his books, but mostly likes to chew on them now. Cooper has been doing better around new people, but still prefers mommy and daddy.

*Cooper sleeps 10-11 hours at night and takes 2 or 3 naps a day. He has been napping for over an hour for his first two naps and sometimes takes a short third nap in the evening. His bedtime has been moved to 7:30pm.

*Cooper has added meats (chicken, beef, and turkey), blueberries, prunes, peaches, carrots, and yogurt to his menu. This month we will start some finger foods! Yum!

*Cooper is ALMOST crawling! He can get up on all fours very easily. He can rock in that position and can go up on his tip toes in the bear crawl position. He can move one knee forward, but then starts to go backwards. It won't be long!

Abilene Fun!

This weekend we went to Abilene for Cassie's baby shower. Cooper and I went in a few days early to spend some time with everyone. We had a great time!
Cooper was very happy to revisit his Little People house at Grandmommy and PaPa's.

He was in heaven with all the carpet in their house! He rolled and rolled and rolled! Grandmommy and PaPa really wanted to take Cooper to the park, but it was too cold and windy. Maybe next time! We had fun playing with all of their toys and books instead. Thanks for a fun time Grandmommy and PaPa!

On Thursday, Cooper and I spent some time with PaPa and Mom Mom Martin. Cooper had so much fun playing with his new ball and Elmo book!

Mom Mom convinced me to let Cooper have his paci even though it wasn't nap time. You can see that he was very happy about that.

He really liked listening to the music and watching the fire with PaPa. He really wanted to crawl around with Mom Mom too! PaPa even showed Cooper some tractors they can play with when he gets older. PaPa said he might have a real tractor for Cooper to ride on one of these days!
We also got to visit with PaPa Foster for awhile! Cooper was so content to sit with PaPa.

On Saturday I went to Cassie's shower. It was so much fun to see all the girly things for sweet Madie. There was definitely no shortage of pink! I can't wait for my new niece!

Cassie opening a box full of fun, girly bows!
We spent the rest of the weekend with MiMi and Grandad. MiMi had the idea to put Cooper in this basket with some measuring cups, spoons, and bowls. He LOVED it! We laughed and laughed at how happy it made him.

Grandad let Cooper get back in his basket as soon as he woke up the next day!

It was so nice on Saturday we decided to take Cooper to the zoo. Unfortunately, most of the zoo was under construction and there were very few animals to look at. I guess Cooper is still a little young for the zoo anyway. He was very uninterested in the animals. However, he was very fascinated by the wheels on his stroller and the fence surrounding the animals! HaHa! Maybe in a few more months!

Checking out the lions with MiMi!

This is what happens when we leave Cooper with Uncle Case. (Cooper is wearing one of Chad's old hats.)

Examining Cooper's favorite part of the zoo...the fence! :)
