8 Months Old

Sweet Hadley is 8 months old!  The past month has brought a lot of firsts!  Hadley can now sit up and is a crawling machine.  She can also pull up to a standing position (and get into EVERYTHING!)  She is quite proud of her new found freedom.  Hadley can also clap, and does so for herself very often.  She has waved a few times, but not consistently.  We are hearing lots and lots  of jabber, but are not hearing any words consistently.  I think she is going to be a talker!

She has eaten pretty much every fruit and vegetable imaginable.  She can feed herself a cracker.  We are still working on getting the puffs to our mouth.  She is doing better with a sippy cup, but still has a ways to go.  We are holding strong at 2 teeth.

She is still taking three pretty good naps and sleeps from 7pm until around 6am.  We are having so much fun at this age.  Cooper is really starting to enjoy interacting with Hadley too.  So much fun!

Early Christmas

Since our gift to Cooper and Hadley this year was quite large and required some ALOT of assembly, we decided to let them open it early!

Cooper and Hadley opening their giant present!
Just the reaction you always hope for from your kids!

After a couple of days of waiting for Daddy (and Case) to assemble...it was finally finished and Cooper was SO excited!

Hadley likes it too!

I see hours of playset fun headed our way!

Happy Birthday, Jesus!

This week Cooper's Mother's Day Out class had a Happy Birthday, Jesus party!  What a fun way to remember the true reason for the season!  Cooper has learned so much about the Christmas story and has been full of questions about Jesus.  I love it!

Daddy was supposed to leave town for work that morning, but stuck around to surprise Cooper at his party.  Needless to say, he was so excited!

We had fun helping Cooper decorate his party hat.

All the kids sang "Happy Birthday to Jesus" and blew out the candle together.  Then they got to have cupcakes and read the Christmas story.  So fun!

Great Wolf Lodge 2012

This past weekend we took our annual Christmas trip with the McQuittys.  We decided to brave Great Wolf Lodge for the second year in a row.  This year was twice the fun with two more little additions. I mean, how could you not love a weekend with this crew?

Despite our typical sleeping challenges that come with hotels, the kids had a great time playing with their cousins!

Cooper loved the bunk beds this time!

Ready for storytime in our Christmas jammies!

Don't be fooled.  There was no sleeping happening on this night! :)
Hadley loved the water.  She was mesmorized by the fountains and wasn't a bit scared.

Thanks for a fun weekend McQuittys!  Can't wait to see what we can stir up next year!

Christmas Parade and Random Fun!

This year, the kids and I walked with the Junior League of BCS in the Christmas parade.  The wait before it began was A LOT longer than expected, but both kids did great and we had a lot of fun!  Cooper did a great job waving and saying "Merry Christmas!"  At one point, he looked up at me and whispered, "Mom, can I say ho, ho ho?"  Ha!  He was super excited to see his friend Grant on the route! Sweet boy.

Sir Edward the Elf has come to our house this holiday season.  He is not very mischevious like some of the other elves.  I just don't get that.  However, he has ended up in some interesting places.

Sweet Santa Baby!

We got to go to our first Aggie Women's basketball game of the season this week!  We loved getting to watch our fellow Wylie grad,  Peyton Little!  She did great!

Cooper and Hadley had a great time with their friends, Willa and Waverley, on the practice court before the game!

Oh Christmas tree...

This year we went to a Christmas tree farm to pick out and cut down our own tree!  This is something I have always wanted to do and it was so much fun!  Nothing like a nice 80 degree day in December to get you in the Christmas spirit!  Ha!
I have such fun memories of picking out and decorating our trees as a child. (ok, maybe I thought it was totally embarrassing during my teen years) Regardless, it made me extremely picky and borderline OCD when it comes to Christmas trees.  Thankfully, Chad understands this about me, and is extremely patient and willing to help make everything "perfect".  In fact, he was the one that suggested the Christmas tree farm.  I think I may have converted him to the real tree bandwagon even though he might not admit it.   Thanks to Chad for doing all the hard work and making this so much fun!  Hopefully, Cooper and Hadley will have wonderful Christmas tree memories too!  I love our little family!
