Fall Fun Abilene Style

Last weekend, we headed to Abilene for a few days. I think we packed as much fun as possible into the few days we were there! Get ready for a lot of pictures...
Our little fisherman

First we headed to Boo at the Zoo with Grandmommy and PaPa

Then, it was off to the Fall Festival with MiMi and Grandad. Cooper was too young for the games, but it didn't stop him!

Grandmommy and PaPa took Cooper to Chuck E. Cheese!

Cooper went to Cross Cut with Chad, Grandad, and Case. He got to go on his first horseback ride!

Cooper and the pumpkin MiMi made him with his name on it.

We also got to go spend some time with Mom Mom and PaPa Martin!

Cooper even got to sit on PaPa's tractor. He wasn't quite ready for a ride though!

Painting Pumpkins

Today, I let Cooper paint one of the pumpkins he got at the pumpkin patch. He had so much fun, and is very proud of his masterpiece!

More Pumpkins and Daddy Time

On Saturday, Chad and I took Cooper to the Flowermound pumpkin patch. It was SOOOOO crowded! Cooper loved the cartoon character cut-outs, train ride, and the pumpkin house!

On top of the haystack (Yes, Cooper wore a Rangers shirt instead of a Halloween shirt. We figured this could be a once in a lifetime opportunity to mix baseball and pumpkins!)

Hugging the Elmo cut-out

I thought I would add this video of Cooper and Chad playing football in the living room. This is a daily occurance in our house. Cooper has become quite the tackler!

Country Critters

Today Cooper and I met our play group at the Country Critters Pumpkin Patch and Petting Zoo! We had so much fun! We got to hear a story, eat pumpkin bread, pet animals, go on a hayride, see some chickens and roosters, play on the tractors, ride a train, and pick a pumpkin to take home! Here are some pictures from our busy morning!

Peek-a-boo!

Petting Zoo
At the petting zoo, they gave all the kid brushes to use when gently petting the animals. A great idea for kids who understand "gently". Poor animals might never be the same after Cooper got finished "brushing" them! Ha!
Rabbit

Sheep (Cooper loved this sheep. He kept hugging and petting it over and over.)

Don't know why these animals were hiding? Ha!

Goats

Chickens, a turkey, and roosters!

I bet Cooper was the only kid smart enough to use his stick horse as a mop!

Checking out the tractor

Look at all the pumpkins!

Picking out a pumpkin!

How about this one?!?!

An attempt at a picture in the pumpkins! Yeah right!

Fun Weekend

This weekend MiMi and Grandad came for a visit! (I did a very poor job remembering to take pictures!) Cooper was SO excited to see them! He was completely attached to his MiMi!

MiMi and Grandad kept Cooper while Chad and I went to the Ranger game! We were really hoping to be there for a sweep, but it didn't happen. We had so much fun even though they lost. Thanks MiMi and Grandad!

All geared up for the Aggies!

Choo-Choo!

Today Cooper and I met our play group at the Forest Park mini railroad to ride the train! It was a beautiful morning, and we had such a good time!

All aboard!

Cooper loved seeing the birds, ducks, cars, water, and kids from the train!

State Fair and Nursery Update

Today we met Cassie, Mike, and Madie at the Texas State Fair! Cooper was very happy to see Madie. He just kept giving her hugs over and over! Who could blame him? She is such a doll!

It was EXTREMELY crowded, but it was a beautiful day! We didn't make it around to everything, but we managed to squeeze in some animals, fried food, and of course a picture with Big Tex.
Cooper loved watching all the animals. He was especially fascinated by the giraffe, zebras, dogs, kittens, and ostriches. Another trip to the zoo needs to be put on our calendar very soon!

On another note, Cooper has had THREE tearless weeks in a row in our church nursery! What has caused this radical change in behavior???
Well, this toy vaccuum of course!

Chad and I noticed this little jewel in the corner of Cooper's classroom one week when we picked him up. The next week, when we dropped him off, we asked for the vaccuum, and Cooper went right in no tears at all. So, every week Ms. Cathy has the vaccuum ready and waiting and he just cleans happily the whole time! HA! Whatever works, right?
