Cooper is 4!

Cooper is 4 years old!  I can't believe my little man is growing so fast!  As sad as it makes me to see his toddler stage disappear, I love getting to know his fun and sweet little personality more and more.

Cooper has been SO excited about his birthday.  But, when the day came and we told him we could do anything he wanted he said, "I just want to stay home and play."  So, that's mostly what we did. :)
A birthday donut in bed!
Meeting his new pet fish!  He was quickly named "Cake" and later renamed "CoCo".  :)
 Presents!

Hadley was pretty excited about brother's birthday too! :)
 Playing at the park!
Cooper requested a cake all to himself that nobody cut (a.k.a. "smash cake").  So, since sister turned one this year, and a certain someone wanted just what she had...we had a 4 year old smash cake.  :)
We were so excited that MiMi, Grandad, and the McQuitty clan made it into town early enough to go for a birthday swim with Cooper!  Check out these awesome superhero towel/capes from the McQuittys!

Some things to remember about Cooper at 4 years old:
  • Cooper LOVES his little sister.  He is usually so sweet to her and calls her "Hadley girl"
  • Cooper is all about Daddy when it comes to playtime, wrestling, and fun, but when it comes time for reading books or snuggling, he's still a mamma's boy. ;)
  • He is still a little shy in new situations, but warms up pretty quickly.  He is great at making new friends, and has been very successful in his first year of Mother's Day Out.  His teachers brag at how well behaved and what a good listener he is.  Makes this former teacher very proud.
  • He loves all things superhero, firefighter, police officer, knight, etc. He also is very into Legos, trucks, and sports.  Pretty much anything boy.
  • Cooper loves candy!  He will do just about anything for Skittles.
  • I love that he has such a sensitive heart, and is just an all around sweet boy.  However, he loves to be rough and tumble just as much.
  • He is a little negotiator.  (just like his Daddy)  He is always trying to talk us into something.  Maybe his skills will be useful later in life. :)
  • Cooper is still yet to get out of his bed without calling for us first on the monitor.  It makes me laugh, because I think he just stays because we have never told him he can just get up.  I like that I don't have to worry about him wandering around the house without me knowing about it, so I just let it be.  I have a feeling Hadley will get out of her bed before Cooper gets out of his. HA!
We couldn't love our sweet boy any more.  What a life changing blessing he is to our family.  Happy 4th birthday Coop!
