Daddy Duck Dynasty Day

Last week Cooper's preschool had a Duck Dynasty themed Daddy day.  All the kids and Dad dressed in camo, ate lunch together, and played games.  Both Cooper and Chad were so excited and had a great time.  Such a fun idea and special time for the two of them

Cooper had lots of special surprises for Daddy when he got there.

This cracks me up!  Apparently, they couldn't talk him in to putting the beard on. :)

The kids sang this special song with sign language for the dads.  Can't you just see the joy on Cooper's face?  He sure loves his Daddy.

Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkins

Last week, the weather was beginning to feel like fall so we decided it was time for a little pumpkin fun.  First, we went to the pumpkin patch to pick just the right pumpkins.  Apparently, we were all in the pumpkin mood, because we came home with 7 pumpkins.  One of them being the biggest one they had!
Searching for pumpkins! (Hadley's ponytail fell out in the car so her hair was extra crazy!)

Hadley picked 2 little pumpkins just her size
Cooper picked one little and one GIANT pumpkin.  It was so big he had to sit on it instead of hold it! :)

When we got home, it was time for some decorating.  (When I went to change the kids into some old clothes, I quickly realized they don't have old clothes.  Only clothes that are too small.  So, we look like we are headed to jazzercise, but that's ok!  HA!)

Once again, Daddy got stuck with pumpkin clean out and carving duty.  Neither kid was interested in the slimyness.

Cooper and Hadley wanted to paint their pumpkins.

Cooper made a plan and worked very hard on his pumpkin.

Hadley soon found that painting her pants was much more fun. ;)

After all the pumpkins were finished, Daddy and Cooper had a fight with the pumpkin guts.  Yuck!

18 Months Old!

Can't believe our sweet Hadley girl is 18 months old!  She is definitely becoming a toddler and that makes us so happy and sad at the same time.  She is such a precious angel but has plenty of spunk in her personality too!
At 18 months, Hadley weighs 23lbs and 14 oz.  She is 32 1/2 inches tall and absolutely perfect! She was such a big girl during her well check today.  She didn't even cry when they gave her a shot.  She just gave the nurse a mean look and said, "OW!" Haha! She insisted on walking in by herself.  She even wanted to sit in her own chair in the exam room.  So independent.

Hadley loves, loves her babies and plays really well by herself.  She wants to do everything her big brother is doing.  She can point to and say all of her body parts.  She knows most animal sounds.  She is constantly talking. Her most common phrase is, "What's that?"  She says just about everything imaginable and puts several words together.  She loves to run, jump and climb on everything!

This week we took the paci away.  It was a rough couple of days, but I think we have won the battle! Hadley has gone potty on the big potty once, and is very interested.  But, mommy is not quite ready for that yet! Slow down little sister!

This precious girl is such a sweet blessing.  I hope you always know how much you are loved and treasured sweet girl!

Meghan's Soccer Game

On Saturday, the kids and I headed to Houston to watch Meghan's soccer game!  Cooper will start playing soon and has been wanting to go watch his cousins in action.  He asked lots of questions and learned a lot!  Unfortunately, we didn't make it to see Kate's game earlier that morning.  Cooper and Hadley always love seeing their cousins.  It was a nice day and we enjoyed our short visit with the Schwertners!

Meghan's cheering section!

This was Hadley laughing at her aunt Kristen.  She was very perplexed by her yelling cheering.  Better get used to it sweet girl.  I'm afraid your momma isn't far behind. :)

Hadley was happy to see the star after the game!

Ole Miss Roadtrip!

This past weekend, Chad and I took a roadtrip to Oxford, Mississippi with friends for the A&M vs. Ole Miss game!  We had an amazing time!
First stop, yummy fried seafood in Nacadoches!
Next, we stopped and spent the night in Shreveport at the Horseshoe!
We were so excited to realize we were going to pass right through Monroe, LA, the home of Duck Dynasty! We even saw Godwin leaving the building.  So fun!

We took a Cooper a duck call home!  He was thrilled

After many hours in the car, we finally made it to the house we rented for the weekend.  It had a nice screened porch and was right on the lake.

Friday night we headed into downtown Oxford for dinner on the square.  We had a great time seeing all the Aggies and the beautiful homes.
After a relaxing morning at the house we headed back to the square.  The girls did some shopping at all the super cute boutiques while the guys watched football.  Then we headed over to The Grove for some tailgating and the stadium for some Aggie football.  It was a perfect day that ended with an exciting Aggie win! Whoop!

They serve sweet tea in their stadium!  So awesome!

The whole crew at The Grove

Ole Miss tailgating was VERY fancy and Southern.  It was so fun to see!

On the way home we had plenty of time to rewatch and critique every play of the game. :)

We are so thankful that MiMi and Grandad came to keep Cooper and Hadley while we were gone.  They had a wonderful time and were well taken care of.  It was so nice to come home to happy kiddos!  I'm sure they didn't get away with anything while we were gone. ;) Thanks so much!
