5 months old!

Sweet Hadley Claire is 5 months old!  It seems she has grown so much in the last couple of weeks.
At 5 months, she can roll from front to back and back to front.  She is a moving machine!  She has also progressed into two new toys this month, the exersaucer and Jenny Jump Up!  She likes being able to see what is going on!
She has also decided that food is not so bad.  We ditched the rice cereal and went straight to avocado and banana.  She is a big fan of both!
Hadley does not like her car seat and will arch her back and try to scoot out when we are buckling her in.  We are hoping this phase doesn't last long.  We have places to go!  She usually gets up twice a night (but just eats during one of those times).  She is still taking cat naps unless she is being held.  I'm seeing the need for some sleep training in her future.  I just don't know if I can let that sweet face cry.  She has been doing great in the nursery which is a huge relief to Mommy and Daddy.
She has discovered her toes, and they are her very favorite toy.  She loves to play "Peek-a-Boo" and be sung to.  She absolutely adores her big brother.  He can always make her smile.
Overall, she is just the sweetest, happy baby.  Can't imagine our family without her!  We love you so much Miss Hadley!

A Wedding Weekend Away

This past weekend Chad and I flew to North Carolina for a friend's wedding. We dropped both kids off in Abilene for some good spoiling at the grandparents! We were only gone for two nights, but it was our first time to leave Hadley overnight and the longest we have ever left Cooper too. Sure was hard to leave our sweet ones behind. However, it was night to get some uninterrupted sleep and have a little time away.  We are so thankful that we came home to two happy kiddos!

Cooper spent the weekend with MiMi and Grandad!  They had a full agenda including a movie, pep rally, and trip to CrossCut.  Cooper had a blast, and is still talking about everything they did!
Captain America!

Only at a grandparents house does he get to nap in costume.  Ha!

Getting water for Reb!

Throwing rocks in the tank!
Hadley spent the weekend with Grandmommy and PaPa!  I was so worried about her not sleeping, but they said she did great!  She sure looks happy to me!

Getting a little Aggie brainwashing from PaPa before the game.
Hadley also got a visit from MomMom and PaPa Mart and Terri and Arlis!

Thanks so much MiMi and Grandad and Grandmommy and PaPa!  We are so thankful for you!

Cooper's First Day of MDO

Cooper started Mother's Day Out at our church this week.  He will be going twice a week.  He was SO excited (alot more than I was)!  First thing he said when he woke up this morning was, "Let's get dressed for school!"  I am so thankful that he is so eager to learn and play with friends, but at the same time it sure is hard to see him growing up.  He walked right in without looking back and his teachers said he had a fantastic day.  Got a little teary at naptime and didn't sleep, but other than that he did great!  So proud of my handsome little man!

Fair, Family, Fall Weather, and Fun!

This weekend the kids and I headed to Abilene for some West Texas fun!  The weather was absolutely amazing and cool.  We took full advantage and did just about all there is to do in Abilene in one weekend.

On Friday night, we went to the Wylie High School football game.  It was fun for me to show Cooper where I went to school and tell him about Daddy's football days.

On Saturday morning, we headed downtown for the West Texas Fair Parade.  It was a beautiful morning and a great parade.  Cooper LOVED seeing all the bands, fire trucks, horses, clowns, etc.

Ready for the parade!

Can you sense Cooper's excitement?

After lunch we headed over to the Abilene Zoo.  They had done alot of improvements since the last time I went and I was really impressed.  It is the perfect sized zoo for a toddler.

Feeding crackers to the giraffe from the bridge.  I used to love doing this as a little girl!

The monkeys were really fond of Cooper.  It was hilarious!

Hadley loved seeing all the sights too!  There was no way she was riding in that stroller!

PaPa and Cooper took a ride on the train for a second look at the animals.

Cooper doing his best flamingo pose!

That evening, we went to the West Texas Fair.  I have so many fun memories of this fair from my childhood.  It is so fun to get to share it with my kids too!

Petting Zoo

Cooper was even big enough for several rides this year!  He loved it!  Can't wait til he can ride the big rides with Mama!

This year we hit the jackpot in the Grandparent's Brag contest.  Grandmommy and PaPa tried their hand at the first two entries and both Hadley and Cooper won first place!!  Mom Mom Mart entered the picture of both of them and also won first place!  Needless to say, we were very proud!

On Sunday morning we went to Grandmommy and PaPa's church and enjoyed a quick lunch with Mom Mom and PaPa Mart and Terri and Arlis.

Whew!  What a fun whirlwind of a trip!  Thanks for everything Grandmommy and PaPa!

** In an effort to keep this post positive I am choosing to leave out any information regarding the Aggie football loss and the flat tire I had on the way home. :(

Pizza Night

Chad was out of town this weekend, so Cooper and I decided to have a pizza night! (Hadley came too of course)  We went to the store and got all the ingredients, made and rolled the dough, watched it cook, and ate it!  It was a fun evening!

Cooper insists on wearing his chef costume every time he does anything in the kitchen!

Can you tell he enjoyed it?

He even helped with the dishes!

Trying solid foods

The doctor suggested that since Hadley is such a big girl we should try giving her some solid foods.  He told us to start with rice cereal until she learned how to swallow and then move on to fruits and veggies. Well, this is what she thinks of rice cereal...
But she does think spoons are pretty yummy,
and bibs aren't too bad either.
We are on day 3 and I'm pretty sure she hasn't even swallowed one full spoonful yet.  I'm not too worried.  She sure doesn't look like she is hurting for nutrition.  :)
