2 Months Old

Hadley Claire is 2 months old!  What a precious angel.  At 2 months old, she weighs 12lbs 6oz (75th percentile), and is 23 1/2 inches long (90th percentile)!  We may have a basketball player on our hands!  She usually sleeps one 5-6 hour stretch at night and then another 3-4 hours.  She usually prefers to go to sleep on her own rather than be rocked.  She is eating about every 3 hours during the day.
Hadley smiles often, especially when her big brother is around.  We have even got a few laughs.  She is discovering her hands and is constantly trying to get them to her mouth.  She loves to lay on her playmat and hit the animals hanging down.  She generally likes to be on her tummy too! Hadley is GREAT in her carseat which makes life much easier for me.  However, she is not a fan of the swing or boucy seat.  She rarely stays in either longer than 5 minutes.  She also likes her Nap Nanny.
We have tried the Moby carrier a few times, and haven't been extremely successful.  Hopefully she will warm up to that soon.
Hadley has become a much happier baby now that we are starting to figure out all of her reflux/milk issues.  She is still on the Prevacid but we have stopped giving her any formula.  (We were giving her one bottle a day.)  The doctor suggested we try Alimentum (it is supposed to be very gentle on her tummy and is really expensive) and gave us some samples, but I think we are going to wait awhile before giving it a try.

Heading to the doctor for her 2 month check up.  They were out of the combination shots so she had to get 5 different shots.  :(  She let them know she wasn't happy about that and I was glad!

Playing with big brother!

She still has those baby blues!

Swimming Lessons!

Cooper has been taking swimming lessons for the past 2 weeks!  He did so great, and was so brave!  The lessons got progressively harder (more going under water each time), so by the last few he was a little more hesitant.  Luckily, he was with his good friend, "the other Cooper", so he loved that!  They worked on blowing bubbles, kicking, scooping their arms, reaching for the side, climbing around the side, treading water, floating on their backs, putting their face in the water, going completely under, and jumping off the side and swimming back.  I was so impressed with how much he progressed.  The best part was seeing the pride on his face after he accomplished something.  He would look over at me with a huge smile.  Melted my heart!  So blessed to spend these times with him.  He was super excited that Daddy came to watch all he had learned on Friday.
Exhausted on the way home.  This NEVER happens!
Little Miss was content to sleep on the nice covered porch most of the time.

Father's Day 2012

We had a great time celebrating Chad this Father's Day.  I feel so lucky to have such an amazing husband who is the best dad to our children.  He continuously serves our family and works so hard to provide for us.  He is such a godly example to others, me, and our children.  He is always so good about helping out when he gets home and providing times for me to have a break when I need it.  We are so blessed to have him as the leader of our family.
Before heading to church, we surprised Chad with the news that he will be traveling to the Texas A&M vs. Ole Miss football game in October with one of our favorite Aggie friends.  He was super excited, and very deserving of a guys weekend away.  After church Chad wanted to take Cooper to see a movie and have a relaxing afternoon at home.  We grilled out for dinner and watched the Rangers.  It was a great day!
Our attempt at a picture before church.  Apparently Hadley wasn't in the mood for photos.
It is seriously so humid here that my camera kept fogging up.

One of the best things about Chad is that he can go from a serious no nonsense business man to dressing up like a fire fighter with Cooper in a matter of seconds.  Ha!  He's always willing to return to his childhood!  He can make up and tell a great story or compose and write a song about anything.  Cooper loves this about him and is always asking for a story.

Somehow this little girl already has him wrapped around her little finger too!

We love you Chad!

Rhyme Time!

Cooper has been really into rhyming lately.   I'm pretty sure he has been inspired by all the Dr.Seuss books we have been reading. Sure makes this former Kindergarten teacher happy to see him mastering a prereading skill!  Here is a little video.  Can you tell he is very proud of himself?

Hadley's Baby Dedication

On Sunday, we dedicated our sweet Hadley at church.  MiMi, Grandad, Grandmommy, PaPa, and Case all made it in for this special day.
Dedication day, while it is a pretty simple walk across the stage event, is much more complex in meaning.  What a huge responsibility we have as parents to raise our children to know, learn about, and seek after Christ.
"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."  Proverbs 22:6
Quick famiy photo before church!  Why is it we are ALWAYS running behind on Sundays?

Happy girl waving to the camera!

So proud of his little sister

Case even took a turn with Hadley, after MiMi got her to sleep. :)

Dear Sweet Hadley,
We promise to try our very best to expose you to and show you the unconditional love of Christ.  We promise to raise you in the church, and try to teach you as much of God's word as we can.  I pray every day that you will always know what a precious child of God you are, and how much you are loved by your heavenly father, as well as, your daddy and I.  I pray that you will grow to know Christ, invite him into your life, and seek him with all of your heart.  We love you Hadley Claire!

The Greatest Show on Earth...sort of

This weekend MiMi and Grandad watched (a very fussy and not feeling well) Hadley while Chad and I got to spend some quality time at the circus with Cooper!  We had a great time!  Cooper LOVED seeing the animals.  I'm pretty sure he didn't even blink for the first hour.   We got to see elephants, camels, horses, dogs, clowns, and a lot of acrobats.  We were hoping for more animals, but I guess that's what you get in the small town version of "The Greatest Show on Earth"!
Thanks MiMi and Grandad for taking care of the little one!
Enjoying his $12 cotton candy, but, hey, it came with this awesome hat! :)

Cooper loved the horses, of course.  He especially loved when they went through the camel's legs!
